Amanda & Taco Return from Forces Entertainment Tour of The Middle East
Christmas and New Year was a little different for the Amanda Emblem Experiment last year. Amanda and Taco spent their holiday season entertaining the Australian Troop on Army bases in some of the worlds most dangerous places. Now back home in Queensland, the pair can reveal their secret mission which saw them fly into remote locations in Iraq and Afghanistan arriving in Hercules aircraft as well as Black Hawk Helicopters and travelling by road in Bushmaster Vehicles, simply to bring a bit of home to to our service men and women who are deployed overseas, ofter for up to nine months at a time. The tour saw them proceeding Sco' Mo' and Donal Trump to the same locations, for exactly the same reasons, although The Forces Entertainment Tour went even further
The tour consisted of three comedians, Tracey Pelling, Mick Neven, Bart Freebairn, another duo Estelle and Brendan (from Echo Del Tusker) and the Air Force Rock Band.
For Amanda, it was the sixth Tour she has been on for Forces Entertainment, but also the longest. Two and a half weeks, much of which was in transit saw both her and Taco spending considerable time being extensively trained in order to competently face the inherent dangers brought about travelling into Iraq and Afghanistan. Thankfully there were no incidents and the six concerts were very well received by Forces personnel.

AMANDA'S DEBUT ALBUM REACHES TOP TEN
The Australian Blues & Roots Airplay Chart numbers are in and "Who Is Amanda Emblem?" has placed at # 8 for June and #14 in July. That means a lot of spins on stations all across Australia! Thank you to the long list of DJ's and radio stations who have got behind the release. All this and the first single is still to be released! The Album also features on ABC Sunshine Coast's Drive program as "Album of the Month" in August.
It's been a difficult choice for a first single from the album, with so many great tracks on offer. The song that has been chosen for release (on September 8th) is "Gotta Be An Easier Way". It is a terrific song that was written collaboratively with Mount Isa Drummer Ben Oleson, (who came up with the vocal hook) and also had the expert assistance of Australian legend, Mr. Daddy Cool, Ross Wilson. On the album version Ross sings the song as a duet with Amanda and plays harmonica. This digital only release is a different version to the album however, with Amanda singing the lead vocal for the track. Produced by Paul McKercher and initially recorded as part of the Diva Demolition "Delve Deeper" album, Amanda has very much made this track her own, and instrumental in the decision to release it as the first single, mostly because of the strong response it gets from her live performances.
